Me, Myself & I
In brief, many moons ago, I had a career in the white collar, fast lane, highly pressurised workplace in UK. My last role was head of IT & Comms for an international law firm. Apart from having knowledge operating all aspects of the firm’s software and hardware, training staff, managing the general running of all servers, systems and securities, I was also required to be diligent, accurate, methodical and manage high confidential data. I also had to ‘think-on-my-feet’ for serious troubleshooting issues when they arose and reported directly to senior management. Demanding role but great job! Before then, I lived in South Africa for many years and I held various job roles but they were often in the marketing and PR workplace. Some roles were various high-end PA positions at senior management levels for large corporations.
In 2009, my husband and I decided that the rat-race was taking over our lives and so we decided to emigrate to a corner piece of the world – Nova Scotia – for the much slower pace, breathe fresh air and live the life we craved. We bought a small town business for my husband which keeps him busy and we bought a small farm where I could have horses and enjoy my passion – riding.
As I have good computer skills and the ability to learn new IT skills quickly as well as have true ‘savvy’ when it comes to some marketing input, becoming a virtual assistant specialising in the front end social media (e.g. WordPress, Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, Pinterest, etc.,) for boutique or newly developed businesses seem a good idea!
OneToOneVA has been borne to solely help and support folk who are in need to tap into the social media platforms but are completely baffled and/or over-run with too much work leaving them with no time to manage such.
